Since the age of 7, I have been immersed in continuous artistic education. This includes 9 years of art school, 2 years of drawing and composition courses, 5 years as an architect and urban planner, and 5 years in the tattoo industry

“I took apprenticeship with Sonya after finishing an online course about handpoke, where I learned some basics, but of course did not get any practice.
We had 4 very productive days, the first day with theory and q&a session and three days with models. Before the beginning of the course, she helped me to prepare my sketches and choose the ones that are more ‘doable' for a beginner. During the practice Sonya was always behind my back, following, correcting and explaining. She was really taking part in the first tattoos, to ensure that our models were happy with the result. But the last day was 100% on me, yet she was consulting me if I had any questions.

I am really glad I took practice with her. It gave me courage to continue my tattoo practice and now I am on a really good level. Some moments were not 100% clear during our practice, like how to understand if I go deep enough, but now I understand that this only comes with experience. I do recommend to take apprenticeship with Sonya for anyone who is in the beginning of their tattoo journey.“

This program specifically stood out to me because I felt that hand poke would go with my style well, and loved the wholistic approach that Sonya has with her program. When starting the program, Sonya gave me so many tools such as which brands are the best to use, how to have my setup, and how the skin is structured. The program moved at a comfortable pase where I never felt too rushed with my work but I could also see steady progress in my tattooing journey. Even after the month long program was over, Sonya continued and still continues to be of constant help.
